We all know that Confirmation completes Baptism and brings the fullness of the Holy Spirit. And Eucharist is food for life's journey to eternal life. I think the Confirmation and First Communion Mass held at St. Charles was the last event before all public Masses were canceled for awhile.
Normally, after the Bishop has confirmed the children and given them First Communion, we have a parish celebration. We missed it this year. We want to have a little celebration for them and all of us this weekend of Pentecost!
We will bless the children at the end of Mass, then, for those who want, I will be outside after Mass blessing your cars as you drive by. It can be a little parade! I hope this can signify that you want to go on your way through all of life’s journey with the guidance
of the Holy Spirit.
You are encouraged to put signs in your car windows, "Come Holy Spirit." Or Maybe Thank the Holy Spirit for any one or all of His Gifts: Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Counsel, Courage, Piety, Wonder and Awe. You can be creative and thank the Holy Spirit for all the things Jesus says The Spirit is: Advocate, Counselor, Spirit of Truth,
Comforter, or Breath of the Almighty.
